LORRAINE CHRISTIE is originally from Northern Ireland and currently resides in Greater Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A.
The creative process has been part of her for as long as she can remember…deciding to become a Professional Artist in her early 20’s
”It is within my blood and life-force to paint!”
Although classically trained in London, she chooses to be known as ‘Self-Taught’ as her work is forever changing as she moves through life. She has travelled extensively and has been fortunate to see, discover or witness the true beauty of heartfelt pain in person or through others.
This has also helped the eternal growth and ever expanding wonder of life, love, joy, pain, disappointment, courage, desire and hope that resonates within us all.
Observing and/or to visualize how a story might play-out in paint.
Although she may feel her paintings have their own unique style, there is nonetheless inspired tribute to the works of Toulouse-Lautrec, John Singer-Sargent, Degas, L.S Lowry and many more.
LORRAINE CHRISTIE'S WORKS ARE ELEGANT AND STYLISH
These fine paintings can be joyful, yet tinged with sensitivity or longing – the viewer guessing or leaving room for their own personal reflection or immersion within the scene.
Her unique, cryptic titles lend further to the mystery.
Even though she paints primarily with palette-knife, there is no vying for position with the use of brush together and the unique application lends itself to unity.
Her works in oil have been purchased and exhibited not only in her beloved native Ireland and the United Kingdom, but Globally.
Lorraine Christie is not one to expand on her triumphs…
Her exhibitions in the USA – Carmel, Ca., Atlanta, Ga., Dallas, Tx, to name but a few. She is proud to be part of the Ulster Museum, Belfast in Northern Ireland’s permanent collection.
Her works have been purchased by many wonderful clients including HM King Charles of the United Kingdom.
